Building Creative Communities
Only through interdisciplinary strategies can our communities dynamically sustain effective initiatives and be resilient in the face of economic challenges. The New Mexico Resiliency Alliance is the founding fiscal partner of the Building Creative Communities Conference, a statewide convening of community leaders from multiple disciplines focused on the integration commercial district revitalization, arts, tourism and preservation. Established in 2014 via a partnership of the New Mexico MainStreet Program (NM Economic Development Department), New Mexico Arts, and the Historic Preservation Division (Department of Cultural Affairs), the Building Creative Communities Conference offers interdisciplinary networking and professional development opportunities for nearly 200 community leaders each year. The theme of the 2015 event was Connecting Creative Communities. For more information, go to .

Professional Development Scholarships
Access to professional development opportunities are critical to building new leaders for community development and revitalization projects. In partnership with New Mexico MainStreet, the New Mexico Resiliency Alliance has established a scholarship fund to assist local talent access professional development opportunities at upcoming revitalization trainings, including the Building Creative Communities conference and similar community development trainings.
